Chilling Out On Hamilton Island

This was to be the place where I would chill out before returning to normal life. I was only here an hour or so when I dashed to the tour desk and booked myself in for two boat trips. That still left me with plenty of free time, which is a good thing at this point in the holiday.

My new definition of relaxation is lying in a hammock on the verandah, during a tropical rain shower, reading my book and idly watching the cockatoos doing gymnastics high up in the palm trees, in an effort to avoid the rain. Why they didn’t just sit under the tree, I will never know. Ah, paradise πŸ™‚

This afternoon’s boat trip to Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, gave me a great opportunity to take more photos of what really is a magnificent part of Australia. Sitting on the upper deck of the boat and photographing the most stunning views, with the cool sea breeze flowing through my hair. What more can I say?

As we cruised home at high speed, the crew were busy checking the manifest to ensure that everyone had made it back on board. They appeared to be having problems as I was asked 3 times if I had signed in. Only in Australia.

  1. These are probably for me the lovliest of the photos and the descriptions of the hammock, wind in hair etc. really press my buttons – I dont know how you are going to psych up for coming back home.

Life is gong along fine here. End of the first full working week of 2012 and I am so glad. Its been a tough one. However on the bright side the sun is shining and we have had some lovely bright days. You can feel that spring is just around the corner and some of the flowers are starting to peep out.

I agree with Carol, those photos are special.

Mon and I went shopping yesterday and bought some of the rubbish that no one else wanted at the end of the Sales. Well we think they are special, but obviously not one else wanted them!!!

    Love Mam
